El paisaje interior de Frank Gardner
Frank Gardner, pintor radicado en San Miguel de Allende desde 1990, ha construido una obra que nace de la observación profunda del mundo que habita. Formado en la Rhode Island School of Design, Gardner captura no solo la apariencia de un paisaje, sino su pulso interno. Para él, pintar es una forma de escucha: una meditación silenciosa en la que el viento, las aves y los cambios de estación se convierten en guías.
México ocupa un lugar central en su obra, no solo como escenario, sino también como experiencia espiritual y transformadora. Sus cabalgatas por el campo, los colores que cambian con la luz y su estrecha relación con la comunidad han transformado su forma de mirar. Gardner pinta desde la empatía, desde la convicción de que “todo está conectado y somos uno”. Esa atención plena se refleja en su pincelada suelta, confiada y llena de vida, donde transmite presencia y emoción.
Representado en galerías de México y de Estados Unidos, Gardner continúa construyendo puentes entre la luz, la memoria y el paisaje.
Gardner llegó por primera vez a México en los años 80, pero fue su segundo viaje el que lo ancló definitivamente en San Miguel.
Sus obras han sido subastadas en eventos benéficos que apoyan iniciativas educativas y ambientales.
Ha impartido talleres de pintura al aire libre, en los que enseña a captar “la atmósfera antes que el objeto”.
Su estudio en San Miguel está rodeado de vegetación y está diseñado para trabajar únicamente con luz natural.

Frank Gardner, a painter based in San Miguel de Allende since 1990, has built a body of work born from a deep observation of the world he inhabits.
